Durlston Country Park National Nature Reserve opens

Durlston Heritage Park Opens to the Public

Our work for the Durlston Country Park National Nature Reserve near Swanage, Dorset has finally come to an end.  The visitor centre, housed in the newly restored Durlston Castle, opened to the public on Friday 18th November 2011.

We were appointed to this project back in November 2009 with the extended production timetable enabling us to organise regular filming on site for our ‘A Year at Durlston’ show. This multi-screen AV sequence was designed to  demonstrate the diversity of species, habitats, land forms and ‘events’ at Durlston and encourage visitors to get out there and explore the site for themselves.

We also developed a client updatable template system to display the Rangers’ ‘Daily Diary’ information, weather updates and ‘what’s on’ information; as well as a geology display using linked lighting effects and audio narration.

Other Contributors: exhibition designers, David McCabe Associates; interpretation consultant Carol Parr; hardware specialists, DJWillrich.
